Conventional commercially available materials mixing plastic and wood only contain 50% wood at most, but in developing Katsulon Wood, we succeeded in raising the wood ratio to 80% while creating a material that can be used to manufacture products flexibly by means of extrusion forming according to the application purpose.
The main features of Katsulon Wood are (1) it has the warm feel of wood, (2) it can be made using sawdust generated when sawing lumber as a raw material, (3), when combusted, it does not generate dioxins, (4) it can be freely shaped for manufacturing, and (5) it does not contain substances that cause sic house syndrome, etc. In terms of physical properties, its water absorbency is extremely low and its density is high compared with plywood or woods such a cypress or zelkova, etc.
Katsulon is a manufacturer of irregularly shaped extruded synthetic resin products that can work with many different raw materials and is capable of small-lot production of a wide variety of products including tubes, packings, gaskets, etc. We are a technology-oriented company possessing 3-dimensional extrusion forming technology and manufacturing 80% wood flour-made extrusion formed products, for which we obtained patents in Japan and the United States.
