Effective Prevention of Crop Damage due to Wildlife Intrusion

Ever since its establishment, Meihan Green Service has been operating its business centered on selling and planting seedlings of Japanese Anise (Illicium anisatum) and Sasaki (Cleyera japonica), and thinning and pruning of Japanese Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) and Japanese Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa).

Year after year, we experienced damage to our fields and plantations due to attacks from boar, deer, rabbits, etc., and we tried numerous methods to prevent such damage from occurring, but to little effect.

However, as a result of a long struggle during which we built up knowledge of the weak points of various animals, we have recently created a product called Farm Defense (Pat. pending), which is effective as an animal invasion prevention system.

We used Farm Defense on a trial basis for two years in four locations in Nara Prefecture (in Nara City, Haibara Town Yamazoe Village and Muroo Village) and also in three locations in Kozakawa Town in Wakayama Prefecture.

In these trials, the system successfully cut damage to crops through wildlife intrusion into fields to zero.

Moreover, Farm Defense satisfies the four conditions of safety, economy, overwhelming effectiveness and simplicity, and it causes no harm either to people or to wildlife.

We recommend the use of this product to farmers and growers who are troubled by wildlife-induced damage to growing crops, particularly in the case of rice paddies and vegetable plots.
