Under circumstances in which we were asked to make products that were lighter and at the same time stronger, we began the development of a cold forging-compatible high-strength titanium alloy as a new material.
As a result of our successful development of this material, we are now able to provide a titanium alloy at low cost that has a good surface skin and is produced not by the conventional diecast wire drawing method but by an original roll method.
We have succeeded in the mass production of items made from the b-type titanium alloy Ti-15V-3Al-3Sn-3CR, which is conventionally very expensive to use because it requires cutting, a problem we have overcome by employing cold forging.
A present, we are attempting to further reduce the processing cost of using this material.
